suffete Antiq.|ˈsʌfiːt| [ad. L. suffes, sūfes, -et-, of Phœnician origin (cf. Heb. shōphēt judge). Cf. F. suffète.] One of the supreme executive magistrates of the ancient republic of Carthage.
