Tigre, n. and a.|tɪˈgreɪ| Also Tigré. [Native name.] A. n. A Semitic language spoken in northern Ethiopia and adjoining parts of Sudan (distinguished from Tigrinya, spoken in Tigre itself). B. adj. Of or pertaining to the province of Tigre in northern Ethiopia. Cf. Tigrean n. (a.).
