To remove the mythical elements (from a legend, cult, etc.); spec. Theology (cf. G. entmythologisierung and quot. 1953): to reinterpret the mythological elements in the Bible. Hence demyˈthologizing vbl. n. and ppl. a.; demyˌthologiˈzation.
