enchorial, a.|ɛnˈkɔːrɪəl| [f. Gr. ἐγχώρι-ος in or of the country (f. ἐν in + χωρά country) + -al1.] That belongs to, or is used in, a particular country: a. Used (after Gr. ἐγχώρια γράµµατα, occurring on the Rosetta stone) as the distinctive epithet of the popular (as distinguished from the hieroglyphic and the hieratic) form of the ancient Egyptian written character; in technical use now commonly superseded by demotic. b. In general sense (somewhat rare.)
