epidermolysis Path.|ɛpɪdəˈmɒlɪsɪs| [G. (H. Köbner 1886, in Deut. Med. Wochenschr. 14 Jan. 21/1), f. Gr. ἐπιδερµίς epidermis + -o + λύσις a loosening or releasing.] A loosened state of the epidermis, giving rise to large blisters with little or no external cause.
