[ad. L. geniculātus, f. geniculum: see genicle.]
Having knots or joints like a knee; bent like a knee; knee-jointed; knotty. geniculate body (= L. corpus geniculatum): each of two knee-shaped structures near the optic thalami at the base of the brain. geniculate ganglion: ‘a small, reddish, triangular ganglion, at the genu of the optic nerve’ (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1885).
