[a. Hindi gharī a water-clock consisting of a perforated floating cup which fills and sinks in a fixed time, usually 24 minutes.]
1. A space of time:
a. In old Hindu custom, 24 minutes, the 60th part of a day of 24 hours;
b. In Anglo-Indian usage, an hour.
