■ intention

搭配比 intent 自由一些，用得也比较广一些。但是 intent 后面可以加上 to inf. 表示其内容，intention 则通常不如此，要用 of + -ing 形式作定语，to inf. 只作为其表语。

• It was not my intention to cause trouble.我的本意并不是要惹麻烦。
• I have every intention of going.我一心一意想去。
• I don't have the slightest intention of telling her.我丝毫没有要告诉她的意思。
• I have no intention of writing to them.我丝毫没有要给他们写信的打算。
• I did it with the best (of) intentions.我这样做，纯粹出于一番好意。
• If I offended you, it was quite without intention.如果我得罪了您，那完全是无意的。

派生的形容词 intentional 和副词 intentionally，都是“故意”的意思。

• I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.对不起，那不是有意的。
• We didn't do it intentionally.我们那样做不是有意的。
