Used in chemical names to indicate the presence of the radical IO2{b1} (or, formerly, IO{b1}), as in ˌiodoxyˈbenzene, a compound, C6H5IO2, forming colourless needles and obtained by disproportionation of iodosobenzene. Also as quasi-adj.
