jetavator Astronautics.|ˈdʒɛtəveɪtə(r)| Also jetevator. [f. (irreg., in the case of jetavator) jet n.3 + elevator.] A ring-shaped deflector surrounding the exit nozzle of a rocket engine which can be swivelled into the exhaust gases to divert them and so alter the direction of the thrust.
