[f. the name of Lenor Michaelis (see *Michaelis n.) + the name of Maud Lenore Menten (1879–1960), American physician.]
Used attrib. to designate (a) a model of enzyme action which assumes the formation of an intermediate complex of enzyme and substrate; (b) a rate equation associated with this model.
