1. Geol. Of or pertaining to monogenesis; ‘resulting from one continued process of formation’ (Webster Suppl. 1880).
1873[see polygenetic a. 2]. 1880Dana Man. Geol. (ed. 3) 776 The Appalachians..constitute one individual among mountains, because a result of one genetic process, or in a word, monogenetic.
2. Biol. Of or pertaining to monogenesis or monogenism.
