a. Any enzyme which brings about a dismutation reaction.
1914[see dehydrase a]. 1943Sumner & Somers Chem. & Methods Enzymes xvii. 298 Aldehyde mutase brings about the Cannizzaro reaction. Here, two molecules of an aldehyde undergo an oxido-reduction.
b. Any enzyme which brings about the transfer of a phosphate group from one carbon atom to another in a molecule.
