Nimzo-Indian, a. Chess.|ˌnɪmzəʊˈɪndɪən| [f. Nimzowitsch (see next) + Indian a.] Designating a form of Indian defence popularized by A. Nimzowitsch, in which Black plays his king's bishop to b4 (Kt5) instead of fianchettoing it.
