[ad. med.L. perticāta (also particāta), f. pertica a perch: cf. bovate, carrucate.]
A Scotch rood (as a measure of land); one fourth of the Scotch acre, containing 40 square falls, rods, or raips, each of 36 sq. ells; or 13,690 sq. ft.
