[f. per-1 + acid n., as tr. G. persäure (von Baeyer & Villiger 1900, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XXXIII. 2480).]
An acid which contains a peroxide group, esp. (in Org. Chem.) the group {b1}CO·O·OH.
