A genus of apterous insects, having a terminal forked springing organ; hence known as spring-tails. Hence poˈduran a., of or pertaining to the genus Podura; n., an insect of this genus or of the family Poduridæ; so poˈdurid a. and n.; poˈduroid a., having the form or character of the Poduridæ.
