Containing or consisting of many atoms of some substance; esp. having many replaceable hydrogen atoms; also = multivalent. See diatomic, triatomic, tetratomic, hexatomic. In mod. use, (composed of molecules) containing many atoms (usu., three or more). Also as n., such a molecule.
