1. a. ‘A general clinic devoted to the treatment of various diseases’ (Syd. Soc. Lex.); (a) ‘an institution furnishing clinical instruction in all kinds of diseases’; (b) ‘a hospital in which all forms of disease are treated’. b. In mod. use, a clinic not attached to a hospital where specialists in various branches of medicine are available to outpatients.
