[f. Gr. πολυ-, poly- + δαίµον divinity, demon + -ism, after polytheism.]
A belief in many divinities (i.e. simply, supernatural powers, or spec. evil spirits: see demon1 1, 2). So polydæmoˈnistic (-de-) a., pertaining to or characterized by polydemonism.
