1. [ad. mod.L. (sulcus) præ-auriculāris (coined in Ger. by T. Zaaijer 1866, in Natuurkundige Verhandelingen te Haarlem XXIV. 28).] Designating a groove situated immediately anterior to the inferior margin of the auricular surface of the ilium, and better developed in the female than in the male.
