[f. L. prōfert (in cūriā) ‘he produces (in court)’, 3rd sing. pres. of prō fer-re to bring forward.]
The production or exhibition of a deed in court.
1719Lilly Pract. Regr. II. 382 Where the Plaintiff declares upon a Deed, or the Defendant pleads a Deed, he must do it with a Profert in Curia to the end that the other Party may at his own Charges have a Copy of it. 1769Gibbon Law Evid. 189 (Jod.)
