pro-tutor Sc. Law.|prəʊˈtjuːtə(r)| [f. pro-1 + tutor n. Cf. med.L. prōtūtor, F. protuteur (1762 in Dict. Acad.).] One who acts as ‘tutor’ or guardian to one in the state of pupillarity, though not legally appointed as such. So pro-ˈtutory, the charge of a pro-tutor.
