A white crystalline sympathomimetic agent which is used esp. as a bronchodilator in the treatment of asthma and is given as tablets of the sulphate or as an aerosol; 1-(4-hydroxy-3-hydroxymethylphenyl)-2-t-butylaminoethanol, C₁₃H₂₁NO₃.
