用于进一步的表示（“更不用说”）；可以在肯定之后表示更进一步的肯定。

• Their house is worth at least a million, to say nothing of their other assets.他们的房子起码值一百万，更不用说他们的其他资产了。

也可以在否定之后表示更进一步的否定。

• A person of no integrity, when asked, does not reveal another person's good points, to say nothing of when unasked.一个没有道德操守的人，人家问到他时，他也不会说出别人的优点，更不用说人家没问他了。

前面虽然没有否定词，但是如果有倾向于否定或疑问意义的词语，表示更进一步，也可以用 to say nothing of。

• It is difficult to escape the cold, to say nothing of the wind and rain.很难避开寒冷，更不用说避开风雨了。
