[ad. med.L. piscāria fishing rights, neut. pl. of L. piscārius adj., belonging to fishing, f. piscis fish.]
1. The right of fishing (as a thing owned). Now usually in phr. common of piscary: see quot. 1880.
1474Rolls of Parlt. VI. 166/2 Markettes, Warens, Piscaries, Fre Customes. 1607Cowell Interpr., Piscarie (piscaria),..signifieth in our common lawe, a libertie of fishing in an other mans waters. 1766Blackstone Comm.
