a. In the East Indies, a synonym of the pompelmoose or shaddock (Citrus grandis).
b. In America, applied to the variety or sub-species of Citrus, also called ‘grapefruit’ and (in the English market) ‘forbidden fruit’. Also = grapefruit. Also attrib.
